Ogle Lodge on the River
In 1807, Martha Jane Huskey Ogle came to this area and brought her young family. They would inhabit an area which would become known as White Oak Flats and eventually, Gatlinburg. But for Native Americans, they would be the area's first white settlers. What they found was a wild wilderness, most of which would become one of America's most treasured national parks over a century later. The remainder would become the very streets that millions of visitors walk and play on in the Smokies today.
Ogle Lodge is dedicated to the Ogle family, pioneer family of the Great Smokies. It sits on the bank of the Little Pigeon River with an outstanding view of both the Little Pigeon and Henry Branch. A Honka Log Home, one of the finest log homes in the world, has 4 bedrooms, 2 sleeping dens, a large kitchen and dining area, abundant private porches, outdoor 6 person hot-tub, a mud room complete with post river shower, family heirlooms, and historic pictures of life in Gatlinburg since the family's first days in the area.
Ogle Lodge sleeps 15 people and is perfect for family vacations, reunions, weddings by the river, romantic getaways, or just the perfect special mountain retreat you've been looking for.
