Are you a fan of the classic television series The Dukes of Hazzard? Running from 1979 to 1985, this enormously popular show followed the misadventures of the Duke Boys, a couple of former moonshiners, as they outsmarted the corrupt county commissioner Boss Hogg. You can find a slice of Hazzard County at Cooter’s Place in Gatlinburg, TN. Located right around the corner from our Gatlinburg cabins, this Dukes of Hazzard museum and family fun center is owned and operated by none other than Ben Jones, the actor famous for portraying “honorary Duke” Cooter Davenport.
Take the Wheel of The General Lee
Cooter’s Place features original props, costumes and memorabilia from the hit television show. One of the highlights of the Dukes of Hazzard Museum is of course The General Lee, the Duke Boy’s famous 1969 Dodge Charger. For just $5, guests will have the chance to have their photo taken while sitting in this iconic car. Cast members from The Dukes of Hazzard have been known to make appearances at Cooter’s Place. From December 26th to January 2nd, Rick Hurst, known for playing the role of Boss Hogg’s dim witted cousin Deputy Cletus Hogg, will be signing autographs and taking pictures at the museum.
