From skiing in the winter to traveling over the mountains in the Aerial Tram, there are so many incredible things to do at this adventure park, and you won’t want to miss out on any of them! That’s why we’ve put together this guide just for you!
Changing From Ober Gatlinburg to Ober Mountain
The first thing you should know about this Gatlinburg attraction is that it recently was sold. The original owners built Ober up to what people know and love today. They knew the time was coming that ownership needed to change hands, and that’s when Sevier County natives, the families of Joe Baker, Cory Cottongim, and Chuck Edwards, bought it. Baker and his wife are the owners of Yee Haw Brewing Company and Ole Smoky, so they know the area and its visitors well.

Changes have already been implemented after the sale, including a branding update. Ober Gatlinburg is now Ober Mountain. The logo, and other signage, has been updated to fit a retro ski vibe. The Seasons Restaurant has had major updates and a smaller menu now, and updates to the mall have also been made. There are more changes in the works and attractions will be added, including mountain biking and ziplining. We will keep you updated with other changes as they are announced.
Although some changes are being made, the heart of Ober isn’t going away! The new owners are adamant about keeping Ober as a ski resort, but they do want to update it so it’s known as a year-round attraction!
Seasonal Changes Throughout the Year
Since Ober Mountain in Gatlinburg is a year-round destination where people of all ages can have fun, they have all kinds of fun activities you won’t want to miss! However, there are certain seasonal attractions you can experience during a certain part of the year.
Summer brings hill tubing to the mountains. The tubing hill is set up with a special type of pad that simulates snow, so people of all ages can enjoy flying down the lanes as many times as they want within a certain time frame! It also brings The Trails at Ober, a guided hiking experience anyone will love, and water raft rides that will keep you cool in the heat.
As the area moves into colder weather, the resort opens its winter activities. You can enjoy the slopes of Tennessee on a pair of skis or a snowboard. Don’t worry if there’s no snow; Ober Mountain in Gatlinburg creates their own snow! Winter also brings back snow tubing in Gatlinburg , and you can get an in-depth look at what snow tubing at Ober Mountain is like!
