If you love wine and are up for a little challenge, you have got to give the Rocky Top Wine Trail a try! This experience is completely free and self-guided, so it’s easy and fun to do. Whether you’re visiting with a group or your sweetheart, it’s always a good time! To help you make the most of your visit, here’s everything you need to know about the Rocky Top Wine Trail.

1. Visit 5 Different Wineries

The Rocky Top Wine Trail is comprised of 5 wineries, located in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville, and you complete the trail once you’ve visited all of them. At the first place you go to, you’ll pick up a passport and then present your passport at each location to receive a stamp to prove you were there.

  • Sugarland Cellars
  • Mill Bridge Winery
  • Mountain Valley Winery
  • Apple Barn Winery
  • Hillside Winery

2. Complete The Trail in Separate Days

Winery

The best part about the wine trail is that you don’t have to check off every stop in one day. You can spend some time enjoying lunch, and truly taking in everything that each place has to offer. This way, you can easily fit this activity in with all the other things you want to do while you’re in town. If you do decide to complete the trail in one day, just be sure to have a designated sober driver so that you can have a safe and fun time.

3. Free Wine Samples

The award-winning establishments on the trail offer over 70 unique varieties of wine for you to sample for free! This is great if you’re passionate about wine or if you’re just trying to expand your pallet. If you find some products that you’re crazy about, you can even purchase them while you’re there, and take them home to enjoy later!

4. Tour the Facilities

If you’d like to see where all the magic happens, several of the wineries along the trail offer tours of their facilities. These free walkthroughs of the winemaking areas are given from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Mountain Valley Winery
  • Sugarland Cellars
  • Hillside Winery

5. Free Gifts for Visiting

What better way to motivate yourself to complete the Rocky Top Wine Trail than with free gifts along the way! Once you visit 3 locations along the wine trail, you’ll receive a free logoed wine glass. Then, once you complete it by visiting all 5 wineries, you’ll be rewarded with yet another gift!
