With winter approaching and the Smokies getting cooler, it’s about time to head towards Ober Mountain for a fun day in the snow. While Ober is a great place to spend some time on the slopes, they also offer snow tubing that is fun and easy for the whole family. Now that the tubing hill is open, it’s time to buy your tickets! Tickets for Snow Tubing in Gatlinburg
For a 90-minute session on Ober Mountain's tubing hill , ages 5 and up pay $35 for non-holiday weekdays and $45 for weekends and holiday periods. If you’re bringing your little ones with you, you’re in luck! Ages 3 and 4 are free with a paying adult. Keep in mind, tickets for holiday periods and some weekends will sell out well in advance, so make sure to purchase your tickets online as soon as possible for your desired session. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office as well!
Tubing Information
Ober Mountain snow tubing runs from late November through late March, and sessions will be held in sunshine, rain, sleet and snow. The tubing hill is a thrilling experience! At 350 feet long with a 50 foot drop, you’ll have a blast flying down this snowy mountain. The outdoor escalator, also known as the “Magic Carpet,” will take you back to the top of the hill after your turn! No climbing required! Kids who wish to ride alone must be at least 5 years old, and every other child needs an adult to ride with them.
Helpful Tips for Snow Tubing in Gatlinburg
Before you arrive at Ober, remember that the mountain tends to get crowded on weekends and holidays, so plan to arrive early. There is limited parking availability, and during inclement weather, Ski Mountain Road is open to vehicles with 4-wheel drive and/or chains only. If you don't drive to Ober Mountain, you can take the Aerial Tramway from the Downtown Aerial Tram Mall. Most guests prefer the tram because of the gorgeous mountain views! There may be a wait time for the tram, so make sure you leave early enough to make your scheduled snow tubing session.

Feel free to do a few laps on the rink, then head to the snack stand for a delicious cup of hot chocolate.
